At first glance, the 5000 S TR is hard to distinguish from the previous version. However, the familiar Lazer Grip profile design hides a completely newly developed construction. Unlike the previous version, the 5000 S TR has only 2 instead of 3 layers of fabric under the tread. This provides a better fit to the ground and significantly contributes to a 20% reduction in rolling resistance. Thanks to the Vectran Breaker anti-puncture layer and the Black Chili grip tread taken over from the previous version, the reduced number of layers has no negative impact on the anti-puncture protection. The sidewalls still consist of 3 layers with a newly added protective layer. This not only improves the sidewall puncture protection by 28%, but also ensures a more stable tyre performance at low air pressure. The new patented tubeless construction makes the tyre 50 grams lighter than the previous version.

The new 5000 S TR is compatible with hookless rims, but can also be used with conventional rims.
The new tubeless tyre has already proven its outstanding characteristics and versatility in racing. Both the world title in the individual time trial and the victory in Paris-Roubaix were won on the 5000 S TR.
