Your questions and our answers

Hello DT Swiss R 470 Classic I am thinking of buying the above wheels for two fit and cross bikes. In both I have QR 5mm mounting system. Is there an option to use hubs for example Novatec in QR 9-10mm system. Greetings
  1. Q Hello DT Swiss R 470 Classic I am thinking of buying the above wheels for two fit and cross bikes. In both ...... see the whole
A If both bikes use the QR 5 mm axle wheel mounting system, please select a QR standard front and rear axle in the DT Swiss R 470 Classic wheel configurator. The whole thing will then fit the mounting system you have. On the other hand, QR 9 or 10 mm is a different axle standard, which can be obtained by replacing the hub ends (endcap). In order to confirm the possibility of conversion in the selected model, please contact us by e-mail atlemonbike and send the model/specification of your bike.
  2. Good morning, I am interested in these wheelsDT Swiss R 470 Classic) and have some questions. I ride a Cube SL Road bike, most of it is city = curbs, potholes in asphalt, light jumps, sometimes some gravel without saving gear, etc. Weight 100-105 kg + bike. Tires currently are the ones from the equipment, i.e. 40-622. Essential question. Will these Wheels manage or look for something stronger? If they are ok, then: 1. are these novatec hubs on machine bearings? 2. what is the difference between d-light and race spokes and which is better to choose? 3. what is the difference between Alu nipples and brass ones and which is better to choose? 4. is it possible to put 8s cassette on Shimano 9/10/11 freehub body ? Thanks in advance for your answer and best regards, J
  3. Q Good day, I am interested in these wheelsDT Swiss R 470 Classic) and have some questions. I ride...... see the whole
A The Wheels in question are built with a sturdy 32 spoke braid, which will meet the expectations presented. In addition, we recommend choosing a configuration on stronger Sapim Race spokes and brass nipples. Such Wheels will be about 90 grams heavier, but will additionally gain in strength compared to a lighter configuration on thinner Sapim D-Light spokes and alloy nipples. If the budget allows, in terms of hubs, we recommend choosing the DT 370 model (cost +250 PLN against Novatec). These hubs are characterized by higher quality workmanship, better bearing seals and operate with a reliable ratchet system. Shimano MTB 9/10/11s freehub body is compatible with Shimano 8s cassettes. This means that a 9/10/11s cassette can also be mounted on a freehub body that supports 9/10/11s cassettes, only a spacer under the 8s cassette will be necessary.
