For allroad/roadplus rides, where riding mainly takes place on gravel, forest roads, and asphalt, tires in the range of about 36 – 42 mm work very well, providing good grip and low rolling resistance. For such tires, a rim with an internal width of at least 21 mm or wider is recommended. For more difficult trails, it is advisable to use wider tires and a rim width of at least 24 mm. This will allow the wheel to perform more effectively in rough terrain.

Hubs are important for making your wheels durable and failure-free, especially in tough conditions. Good hubs have well-sealed bearings to keep out sand, water, and dirt. We recommend DT Swiss and Evanlite hubs because they are well-sealed and made from high quality materials.

For spokes, we usually use mainly Sapim D-Light because they are light and durable. For harder use, like ultra races, mountain trails, or heavier riders, stronger Sapim Race spokes with brass nipples are much better. These wheels will be a bit heavier but very strong for tough conditions.
